How should I clean my Enkor™ interior wall?
For best results, always clean surfaces immediately. Use a damp, soft cloth or sponge with warm water and mild dish detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sponges. Do not saturate the wood planks. For all detergents and cleaners, be sure to read and follow the product instructions.
How do I attach shelves or hang pictures on my Enkor™ interior wall?
Enkor™ wall planks are non-structural. We recommend attaching through the planks into studs to hang shelves or artwork. For proprietary wall hardware, follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and remember that Enkor™ planks add approximately 3/8 inch to the wall thickness.
During installation, can I use screws instead of nails?
Yes, but this is not recommended because the large exposed fasteners will likely not be aesthetically pleasing. Follow all other aspects of installation.
What if there is no stud at the end of a plank to nail to?
If you need to attach the end of a plank and there is no stud to nail to, safely use non-permanent (removable) double-sided mounting tape.
Note: The use of construction adhesives or permanent tapes may result in damage to the drywall if removed at a later date.
Can I use a hammer to install instead of a nail gun?
Yes, however, we recommend a nail gun in order to prevent possible damage to the face of our product. Remember to nail flush with the surface of Enkor™ planks in order to achieve optimum holding strength, while limiting the risk of snagging clothing on an exposed nail head.
Can I install Enkor™ planks on curved walls?
No, this product is not meant for this type of application.
Do I have to cut the planks to random length to stagger the joints?
Our planks are designed with joints to replicate random patterns, but planks do need to be cut so that the end joints occur over the center of the studs.
Can I use staples?
We do not recommend using staples to install Enkor™ interior accent planks.
Can I install Enkor™ accent planks in a basement?
Yes, but only if your basement is properly finished to eliminate condensation or moisture from the concrete walls and is part of the conditioned living space. Enkor™ planks should not be applied directly to concrete or masonry surfaces.
How can I hide finish nails or screws?
Nails that are counter sunk, may be concealed using a colored wood putty. It is more difficult to conceal wood screws, however there are decorative screws and screw caps available that can be used as an accent.
